CoLab Hospitality

Hospitality research,
done together.

CoLab Hospitality is where hospitality companies and researchers find each other and do research together. Companies bring the questions. Researchers bring the methods. We bring them to the same table.

Early access is open while we build.

The best questions and the best methods rarely meet.

For companies

You have questions about your guests, your team, your pricing and your technology. You have the property and the data to test answers in. What you do not have is a researcher who knows how to design the study, run it properly and tell you what it means.

For researchers

You have the training, the methods and the time to do rigorous work. What you do not have is a hotel that will open its doors, a dataset that did not come from a panel, or a question that someone in the industry is waiting on.

Both sides lose when they stay apart. CoLab Hospitality exists to fix that.

How it works

Three steps, for both sides.

When the platform opens, this is how you will find each other and start.

  1. Post or browse.

Companies post a project or browse researcher profiles. Researchers build a profile and browse open projects.

  2. Get matched.

We match companies and researchers on what the company needs and what the researcher knows. You see the fit before anyone reaches out.

  3. Work together.

Agree on scope, timeline, data and publication before anything starts. Then do the research.

For companies

Get a credible answer to a real question without hiring a consultant or building a research department. Post your question and we will find the researcher. Or browse profiles and choose the person yourself. Every project starts with a clear scope, a timeline and a deliverable you can use.

Join as a company

For researchers

Get access to real companies, real data and questions the industry is waiting on. Build a profile, browse open projects or let the right company find you. Authorship, data use and publication rights are agreed before the work starts, so you keep what you earn.

Why I built CoLab Hospitality

Built by someone who has sat on both sides.

I am Luana Nanu. I am an assistant professor in the School of Hospitality at the University of South Florida and an Associate Editor at the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology. I have spent years watching good research sit in journals that no operator reads, and good questions go unanswered because no operator knew who to ask. I built CoLab Hospitality to put the two in the same room.

Where we are

We are building this now.

The platform is in development and we plan to launch in full at TIED at the Bay on April 15, 2027. Early access members can tell us about their research or company questions now, be first in line when matching opens, and help shape what we build.

An invitation to shape what comes next
